With Bitcoin surging once again, billionaire Tim Draper has predicted that BTC will replace the globally dominant US dollar over the next 10 years. Indeed, the venture capitalist discussed the leading cryptocurrency and why it may be set to become the global standard over the next decade.

Additionally, Draper projected Bitcoin to reach a price of $250,000 by the end of the year. That prediction aligns with statements made by Standard Chartered Bank, which recently said BTC was on pace for a $120,000 price point in Q2 of this year.

Billionaire Venture Capitalist Says Bitcoin Will Replace The US Dollar In The Next Decade

Entering 2025, Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency market were a clear focal point. With the return of Donald Trump to the White House, the nation got its very first pro-crypto administration. Subsequently, many experts foresaw the presence of favorable regulation for the asset class during that second term.

That regulation was poised to help propel the asset that has long stood as the largest by market cap. According to one venture capitalist, that may just be the beginning. Indeed, with Bitcoin’s recent surge, billionaire Tim Draper projects that the crypto will replace the US dollar over the next ten years.

“10 years, something like that. It may be a little less,” Draper told CoinDesk in a recent interview. Additionally, he noted that after the next decade, Bitcoin will be “infinity against the dollar because there won’t be a dollar.”

“Once I can buy my food, my clothing, my shelter, pay my taxes, all in Bitcoin—and it’s a better way to collect taxes for sure—there won’t be any reason to hold onto any [dollars], and Bitcoin will be the primary source of owning wealth,” Draper predicted.

“The good news is that banks can now hold your bitcoin and your fiat currency,” Draper added. However, he did predict a run on the greenback to soon take place. He expects a global shift toward Bitcoin to come, pushing many to make the transformation. When that happens, “you don’t want to be in line at the banks,” Draper told the publication.
