Royal Caribbean Group creates a stunning scene

It’s actually rare that Royal Caribbean ships will be near each other except as they enter and leave ports. You may pass by a Celebrity or Silversea ship while onboard a Royal Caribbean ship, but it’s very rare that ships will gather together.

During the return-to-cruise days in July 2021, Royal Caribbean had passengers on Freedom of the Seas sailing out of Miami, as well as on Adventure of the Seas, which was using Nassau as its homeport and had crew members on a few other ships getting them ready to accept passengers.

On July 4, 2021, Freedom, Adventure, and a handful of other ships all anchored off Perfect Day at CocoCay for a fireworks celebration. That event did not include any Celebrity Cruises or Silversea cruise ships, but a new Royal Caribbean Group event does.

On Oct. 22, 2024. Royal Caribbean Group did something it had never done before.

“For the first time ever, we brought together three of our newest and most innovative ships —Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas, Celebrity Cruises’ Ascent, and Silversea’s Silver Nova — for one breathtaking shoot. The iconic gathering represents more than just stunning visuals; it symbolizes the unity, innovation, and shared vision that drives our company to create unforgettable moments for our guests,” the cruise line shared.

The cruise line shared a behind-the-scenes video of the ship’s coming together with the communication between the captains.

The cruise line wanted the difficult-to-pull-off event to be more than just a photo op.

“With our three leading brands, we aim to transform the vacation of a lifetime into a lifetime of vacations,” the cruise line shared.

Passengers and Royal Caribbean fans were impressed by the effort the cruise line put in.

“I was onboard Icon when they filmed this! I was wondering when we’d get to see the helo video! This was amazing to be part of! Got lots of photos and videos from our perspective,” shared @The_Red _Key on YouTube.

Others who weren’t there were impressed by the video.

“Amazing footage! Everything about Royal Caribbean, its ships, crews, and entertainment is Iconic,” wrote @trina8994.

Icon of the Seas is the current largest cruise ship in the world.
